Past Meets Future: Revitalizing Abandoned Train Stations.

The goal of this workshop is to explore innovative ways to transform old, unused train stations into vibrant new spaces that can attract visitors once again and contribute positively to local communities—both socially and economically.
Many of these abandoned train stations are currently seen as eyesores or even potential safety hazards. However, they have history of helping increase foot traffic, connecting everyday life, and supporting local economies when they were operating. As they have become obsolete, they no longer serve a functional purpose and, in many cases, have become problematic for their surroundings.
Through this workshop, participants will identify the problems of abandoned train stations and propose creative design solutions that can be reborn as meaningful spaces for both local residents and visitors.
Therefore, this project aims to contribute to the revitalization of the local economy and culture by applying various design approaches that utilize community-centered planning and cutting-edge technology to content, services, spaces, and environments.
This is not only a design challenge but also an opportunity to rethink public infrastructure and turn forgotten places into meaningful destinations again
